Drying ginseng

Drying the ginseng plants in the sun.

After the ginseng has been harvested and the leaves removed from the roots, we lay the roots out in the warm Wisconsin sun to dry them.

This is a critical part of the process. If the sun is too hot, they burn. If the sun is not hot enough, they can rot.

After the ginseng is thoroughly dry, it is ready to be shipped to our store in San Francisco where we can prepare it for our medicines, teas, and powders.
