Since the remote past Acupuncture, the traditional Chinese medicine has been used in Asian countries as one of the most reliable options in relieving pain. In countries like India, Japan, China, Vietnam and Tibet acupuncture is used for treating a wide range of disease and physical conditions. In the United States, today, acupuncture has been reckoned as the Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) and is used in relieving a variety of physical conditions, including severe arthritis, neck pain and back pain.

The earliest documented history of acupuncture indicates its rich history, dating back to almost 5000 years and steeped in the rich legacy of oriental medicines. The acupuncture needles were then made of stone, bone and metal and were abundantly used in treating a variety of illness and diseases. However, this traditional treatment has traveled a long way to meet the need of this era. The stone, metal or bone needles now have been replaced by disposable, sterile needles and the treatment is now one of the most preferred alternatives to count on.
